AvXcel™
Serotype-agnostic, alkaline-stable AAV affinity resin with flexible elution properties for higher recovery and preserved viral activity.
rH10 AND SELECT ENGINEERED SEROTYPES/NOVEL CAPSIDS
VECTOR RECOVERY
NEAR-NEUTRAL OR ACIDIC ELUTION
Purpose-designed for AAV purification
Traditional AAV affinity workflows remain constrained by serotype specificity, low-pH elution, recovery, reuse, or process-specific development requirements. This restricts scalability, cost efficiency, and ultimately patient access.
AvXcel is a synthetic peptide-ligand affinity chromatography resin, purpose-designed to overcome these limitations.
One resin, all serotypes.
Simplify process development and avoid multi-resin re-validation
- Consistent binding and elution of AAV1-9, rh10, and select engineered serotypes/novel capsids
- Superior clearance of HCPs, hcDNA & pDNA
- Scalability and GMP readiness
Choose your elution pH.
AAV affinity resins with biological ligand constructs require acidic elution (pH 2.5–3.0). This can lead to capsid aggregation, extended neutralization times, and loss of vector potency.
AvXcel is the only resin designed to elute in either near-neutral and acidic conditions. This enables flexibility to optimize for either platform compatibility or functional yield, depending on product and process requirements.
- pH 6.0–6.8 preserves capsid integrity and improves functional recovery
- pH 2.5 maintains compatibility with acidic platform buffers, while caustic CIP tolerance supports long resin lifetime
No neutralization step.
Acid-eluted material requires immediate neutralization to avoid capsid aggregation and loss of vector potency. Vectors purified on AvXcel show preserved capsid integrity and transduction potency while simplifying downstream operations by avoiding immediate neutralization pressure.
Why AvXcel™
Purpose-engineered for improved yield and potency and gene therapy manufacturing from early-stage process development through to commercial GMP production.
Serotype-Agnostic Capture
Single resin captures AAV1–9 and rh10. Eliminates costly serotype-specific process development and multi-resin re-validation across your gene therapy programme.
Near-Neutral Elution
Recommended elution at pH 6.0–6.8 preserves transduction efficiency and removes the mandatory neutralization step required when eluting in acidic conditions.
Acidic Elution
Optional elution at pH 2.5 enables platform compatibility and extended lifetime through caustic CIP.
Extended Lifetime
Caustic-stable across 60+ CIP cycles with 0.5 M NaOH reducing cost-of-goods significantly versus resin replacement every 20–30 cycles.
Platform GMP Readiness
Scalable from 1 mL to >200 L manufacturing. One resin, one qualified process, applicable across your entire AAV pipeline.
Superior Impurity Clearance
HCP clearance of 2.2–3.4 LRV and DNA clearance of 3.0–3.5 LRV in a single affinity step, reducing downstream polishing burden.
